The Canadian Association of Direct Relationship Insurers’ (CADRI’s) Board of Directors is announcing leadership changes at the association.
After almost a decade as Chair and CEO, Alain Thibault has informed them of his decision to step down from his position as of December 31, 2020.
“I feel the time has come for me to look for other ways in which I can contribute to the evolving insurance landscape,” Alain commented. “I have been proud to be part of CADRI and leave with the confidence that with the strong support of its members, it will continue to play an effective role in helping to shape tomorrow’s insurance regulatory environment.’’
Alain joined CADRI as CEO in 2011 after his career at TD Insurance. Under his tenure CADRI has provided a valued voice to governments, insurance regulators and other stakeholders on matters affecting the distribution and sale of insurance products across Canada, in particular the need to allow for continued innovation and the adoption of new technologies to meet changing consumer expectations.
The Board wants to express its appreciation to Alain for his contribution to the success of CADRI and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
The Board has proactively planned for Alain’s succession and is pleased to announce that Geoffrey Beechey will step into the Chair and CEO role of CADRI effective January 1, 2021, having retired as VP Insurance Operations at The Co-operators at the end of 2020. Geoff is currently CADRI’s Vice Chair and chairs its Property Insurance Task Force.
The Canadian Association of Direct Relationship Insurers (CADRI ) is the voice of insurance enterprises that offer automobile, home and commercial insurance directly to Canadians.
